My little brother's best friend (also my parents' next door neighbors) is the manager for the Isles. He already runs some practices and some drills and plans on playing next year.

Hopefully they will get to go to the playoffs but politics could stop them. When top teams like Connecticut lose a game they drop about three places - when this type of team loses they probably will drop them ten places and are slow to be brought back up even when they win. And if they make it they will probably have to play a powerhouse in round one. Like when their softball team gets to go to the playoffs who do they place first - the top ranked Lady Longhorns (Hello?!). Hopefully they will at least get to go though. Go Islanders!

does anyone know if they are eligible for the NCAA tournament? i know they had a few years where they had to wait, but that may already be up. im not sure.

oh yeah... one of their 'non-stars' Taurean Mitchell is a Corpus Christ product. If i'm not mistaken, he is a sophomore and is a starter... How You like them Ray Texans now?

yeah thats our "mascot." yeah thats kool that ur coming here. hopefully our bball team will be good when u get here bc were gonna lose some real good players (seniors) like travis bailey and corey lampkin. the article that pirate44 posted was awesome, but thats not all! dick vitale called our road win against florida state the "shock of the week" for that week of ncaa basketball. thats awesome! i wanna go to the osu game at the american bank center, but i gotta work the holidays in houston. but if we win, im gonna be pissed bc i woulda had a chance to get there for free since im a student and rush the court in celebration of our triumph. but o well i guess the early mornin box scores will have to do. im outee....GO ISLANDERS!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO !!!

been there and love it. its top notch for any event. however, when i went, it was an exhibition against tamu kingsville so there was nobody there. i couldnt really give it full love with a small crowd, but if i somehow do go to the osu game, it will be rockin fun and loud...

if UTSA was able to get into the big dance last year, then tamucc can do it this year. o and we dont have ghetto fans.

the difference is - UTSA won the Southland Conf & got the auto-bid. aTm-CC has no conference to win so the only way they get in is the get one of the 34 (or so) at large bids .. almost impossible.

bummer but reality - they need to join the SLC or Sun Belt or some conference.

i c. i think sun belt would be kool, but a conference is a conference to the islanders. it doesnt matter to them at this point. i just read that in the article. on another note, i eclipsed 100 posts...im kool now ;) nah jk

UNT is in the Sun Belt & they're the only TEXAS team - i think that stinks - they had no home football games against TEXAS teams & they're attendance showed

i hope aTm-CC dont join a conference just for being-in-a-conference's sake ...
