Can you name a team (there might be more than 1) that went undefeated in the regular season and playoffs, yet still didn't win a State Champnioship?

You know me, I am cautiously nervous each and every week we play but NEVER make predictions. I am talking in general. Has a team been undfeated all season and in the playoffs too but not play for the state championhip.. maybe I mis-phrased the question......... l:D :D

How bout this.. Has any team ever ended up their season 12-0-1 and not won a state ring?

You know I am just kidding ya! I think Cuero is the only team I know of that has gone 14 games undefeated. There might have been one to go all the way through the state championship....HEY, that might be you after Friday!:D

Ya, Cuero did it, I think they were the only team to go 12-0-1 when they lost to PI on penetrations in the 90's! I know you remember that one!

No, Burnet was defeated. The question was undefeated in regular season AND the playoffs. ;)

Jasper in the early 80s. They tied Beaumont Hebert in district. Back then, only one team advanced to the playoffs and Jasper lost on penetrations. Hebert went on to win state.:(

I heard this today that Cuero is one of 3 teams to make it to the state championship 4 decades in a row...70,80,90,&04...there could be more, maybe someone else may know...I really never thought about it!!

lol that was the whole reason for this question...... Cuero never lost a game in 1994 - we tied a Regional game to PI and they advanced but our record was 12-0-1 - but I guess technically we lost........ but at least it did stir up some conversation.......

What I meant is We had an undefeated season and still didn't win state....... :(.......

LOL I saw it, how did they do it? just curious, it's easier for you to tell me than me to look it up :)

1988 - that was a good year.. that was the year quite a few of the Gobblers were born (including baby44inarow)

They won all of their games, including the state title game against Converse Judson.

Later they were stripped of the title for playing an ineligible player.

They went undefeated, but they don't have the trophy.

Technically they qualify in your trivia question.
