Cuero definately. When it come to overall boys athletic programs, without being a homer, Sinton is tradition rich.

Probably a difference between being a school of tradition and a school that traditionally wins!:D

I have to be a homer and say Sweetwater, but not just because I played there but because you have to respect a program that had the second most wins in 4A behind WOS in the 80s and 90s and has only missed the playoffs once since 1985 the year we won state. Oh yeah we also have nearly 600 victories in school history.

I agree with everything, but I have to correct you. Sweetwater has missed the playoffs 3 times since 1985. 1998 and 1999 for sure, and I think the other year was 1988 or 1989.

I would have to say Cuero without a doubt...but Im not just being a homer but Sinton was really good in the earlier 90's but if we are talking about overall tradition Sinton would rank up their in all sports, Football, hoops (fell off a little) but still traditionally strong years ago and baseball we have to be one of the most tradionally ranks schools when it comes to BASEBALL and watch out for us this year again...maybe PI in football...

Wasn't '98 the year we got beat by Denison in the quaterfinals? Boatright's last year?

No that was in 1997. 1998 and 1999 were the two last years in 4A. Also two of the three years in the Coach Dowell era.

Speaking of I loved Coach Dowell, helluva defensive coach. Anyone that questions that you should have watched Abilene Highs Linebackers this year.

Barbers Hill is rich in tradition. Two football championships, three girl's basketball championships, a couple of track state championships. A "Hall of Honor" in the school that is maintained by a Hall of Honor committee. They have a banquet each year to induct new members. The Hall of Honor is set up like a Hall of Fame with member plaques and memorabilia. We have a community that backs athletics and provides great facilities. And despite what Jody says, we have excellent coaches.

Sweetwater is the only High School in the nation with a right to claim two charter members of the NFL Hall of Fame,
Sammy Baugh, and Clyde "Bulldog" Turner.
