Who are they playing and how do you know this? I did not think they knew until after the conference champs.

Everybody wish me luck today. I am on my way to fight the crowd of probably over 200 that camped out since SUNDAY. I am off to try and score some Cotton Bowl tickets. Hope I can beat a few people out, but I don't know. They are going fast. Sigh, if only a math review didnt take first priority.:(

Where are your priorities, Bulldog_12? Camping out for Cotton Bowl tickets during finals is one my fondest memories of A&M. The tent city that popped up around G Rollie was the place to be. We would leave to take finals and then come back and swap with friends who had finals at different times. Not much studing went on around there, that's for sure. Probably is part of the reason for my GPA.

It was worth it, though. Got to see them BTH out of Tim Brown and Notre Dame.

Good luck scoring tickets

Didn't A&M lose to ND that year?

Not that year. They beat the Irish 35 - 10.
They were outscored by ND in the Cotton Bowl 2 years in a row, after the 1992 and 1993 seasons. I was at those games, too, as well as the 10-2 loss to Florida State.

The Tim Brown Cotton Bowl was following the 1987 season. A&M had an impressive win streak against Heisman Trophy winners, including Bo Jackson, Tim Brown, Ty Detmer, Andre Ware.

Thanks....I had forgotten. The one I remember the most was A&M stopping Auburn with Bo Jackson at the one yard line after they had first and goal at the one....best goal-line stand I have ever seen! I also remember Aaron Wallace, after he had sacked Andre Ware (again) holding up Ware's helment to the A&M crowd after it had been....shall we say....dislodged!
