This Week's Pick 'em... DI STATE FINAL EDITION

This is it. After all those weeks of prognostication, posts, and polls we have narrowed the field down to two teams. At least for 3A Div. I... ;)

Cuero... A darling of the polls for most of the year. Many look for the Gobblers to snag their fourth state title. The Gobblers have had to visit some state powerhouses to get here... like the Sinton Pirates. They are sure to bring their A game to Waco on Friday night and are sure to be supported by some great fans.

Abilene Wylie... They are one of the teams from district 4-3A that is looking to show the rest of the state just how tough competition can be in West Texas. They pulled of the HUGE upset of beating Decatur... and did it with solid football. They also ran through Royse City last week to earn their birth to State. Can the Bulldogs bring home a ring?

Ya'll decide... Poll closes on Friday.

Last Week's Pick'em...

Last week Snyder continued their playoff run, defeating Sweetwater. It was an upset, at least as far as the poll is concerned. only 17 of 63 picked Snyder to win the game... only 26.9% and it dropped our YTD to 53.2%.

Well, only two more weeks to pump that number up...

iI think that Wylie has a defense that can stop the Gobblers, but can the offense can get the points? I see this as a one or two point game. IM on the Wylie bus, but its going to be the kids on the field Fri night that makes the difference as to who is or 3A champions!

Good luck to both teams its been another great year for high school football.

Since Cuero dismantled us in SA...i have to go with the gobblers ...The thing I came away with after the Sinton game is that the Cuero team in my opinion is a "mistackleD" from taking it to the house so i would advise Wylie to practice a little more on tackling...but I also do respect Wylie as a state power but gotta go with the GOBS

I picked Snyder last week and I will have to go with Wylie this week. This is going to be a very close game. 1 TD or less difference.

well i still think Sweetwater is better than Snyder, but Snyder is still in and thats all that matters....i still just cant get over of how sweetwater, snyder, and abilene wylie were all in the same district....and it shows each teams desire to win by them all 3 tying for 1st

oh...that means that i think Wylie will win!

Cuero has more titles than the bulldawgs. So if you really believe in"tradition" then you HAVE to say that Cuero will win. Time do decide...does tradition win- or is that just a fancy word for homerism?

The USA after all never lost a war till they fought one with someone who did not believe in tradition called Viet Nam. The USA had the better team, but the best team does not always win.

Good luck to both teams. Only one will have the ring. The other will feel the sting of "what could have been".

Well I think Snyder is better then Sweetwater, but I agree about the district. These three teams have definitely made each other better which has surely helped out in the playoffs, AND IT SHOWS!
It just seems fitting that they all shared a piece of the district title.

My vote is for Wylie, I hope they bring home the state championship this weekend.

not that i was putting down snyder....i was just saying from someone else...its all really a matter of opinion who is better....even whoever wins doesnt make them BETTER, yeah they did things better, got better calls, and so on THAT NIGHT....
but ive learned in Biology that nothing is proven, ESPECIALLY in football, waaayyyy too many 'shoulda, woulda, couldas" so its really an opinion to anybody who is the BEST...cuz i still think Decatur is one of the Best in the State and they were out 2 weeks ago.....GOOD LUCK TIGERS and BULLDOGS!!!

Again, no one believed Cuero would get by West Columbia, then everyone hopped on the Wimberley train, and the Sinton ppl got hyped up for a rematch, and Palestine ppl started to join in, the Cuero boys have been the underdogs throughout the playoffs, even though they are #1, they know what they have to do to win, they've played through some hard fought ballgames in the playoffs as well, so don't count them out before the game even starts....believe me, they want it this year!

Good luck to the Wylie Bulldogs and to the Cuero Gobblers. Lots of hard work has gone into the season to have made it this far.

This is the first time I've gotten to reply on here, but wanted all of you to know I've enjoyed reading your words during the past football season, and I look forward to conversing with you in the future.
