Scouts at our game....

I believe I saw a Jasper scout yesterday at the game - not surprising at all. I glanced up in the 3rd qtr and saw a strange look on the guy's face - I couldn't figure out if it was confusion, disgust (we had just scored our final TD) or awe. :D

Congrats to LH for your great win, LHPMom. I know you are very proud. Forgive my poor football history, but is this the deepest that LH has ever gone into the playoffs? If it is, then this time is all the more special to you guys, and I hope you can go all the way to the state title. BTW, I don't think that scout took into account one of LH's best weapons---the "12th Woman" factor of you really supportive moms. Best of Luck.

Yes, it is Bullaholic. Actually, yesterday's trek to the Regional Quarterfinals was the farthest we had ever been in school history. I'm not sure when the school was started, but I understand it was at least 70 years ago. Thanks for the luck.

I don't think they were in awe because they're always good. LH will have to really step it up to a higher level next week. Jasper will be ready I promise you. Go Panthers! Practice hard this week and be ready to pass the ball, because I think it will be necessary against Jasper.

I remember in 93 during the playoffs- we were playing in San Marcos at SWT Bobcat stadium. There were guys in matching jackets (assuming coaches of the next weeks' possible opponent) and one of them was filming and someone "official looking" went and escorted him out of the stadium (to put the carmera up I guess) and walked him back to his seat. this was all before the days when everybody and their brother had camcorders. That was the first time I'd ever heard about that UIL violation.

From UIL C & CR, Section 1208:

(m) VIDEOTAPING AND FILMING.
(1) Non-Conference and District Contests.
(A) Videotaping/Filming by Schools.
(i) It is a violation to videotape or
film a non-conference or district
athletic contest in which your
school or team is not competing
unless prior consent of the two
schools involved has been
obtained.
(ii) A school does not have to obtain
permission to film or tape a nonconference
or district contest in
which it is competing. However,
the film or videotape may not
be utilized until after the contest
has been completed.
(iii) Films and videotapes become
the property of the school doing
the filming unless by district
rule or by consent of the schools
involved in the contest.
(B) Videotaping/Filming by Individuals.
Any individual taping or filming must
have permission from the schools
involved in the contest and may not
obstruct the view of other spectators of
the contest.
(C) Commercial Uses. Use of the films or
tapes for commercial purposes must
be approved by all schools involved in
the contest.
(2) Regional and State Playoffs.
(A) Schools and/or individuals must have
prior approval of the tournament
director to film or videotape a regional
or state tournament, and may not
obstruct the view of other spectators of

I know 40 or 50 coaches and I don't think I have ever seen one wear a letterman's jacket.

If I were you guys at LH I would contact the UIL immediately...this infraction should be thoroughly investigated before Saturday. It might be your best chance to advance

It doesn't really matter and certainly has no bearing on either teams preparation this week...here's hoping for a safe game saturday. Jasper got a little banged up yesterday and I hope all the kids are ok.
