Investigators say at least three tornadoes struck homes in Kirbyville within minutes Tuesday afternoon.

At the height of the storm, about 20,000 people in the region had lost power. At noon Wednesday, fewer than 500 people remained without power.

Word has it that the storm stole the tape with Jasper's plays on it and are reported to now be in Cameron's possession...

sorry couldn't resist ...The winds were very rough here in liberty county last night as well. I took the little ones into the hall just in case. I also hope no one was hurt.

At least 1 person was killed in Hardin County. Jasper and Newton Counties were declared disaster areas by their county judges.

Local Meterologist took a helicopter tour, and believes that the tornado in this picture was rated a high F2 or low F3 (140MPH-160MPH). Those types of tornado's are VERY rare for this part of Texas.. These photos are from Jasper and Hardin Counties.
