They beat tough Iowa State today 40 to 19! The mighty may have fallen but they have got back up again! Even then Oklahoma isn't really much better than Texas. Texas probably could have held them to a 21 to 13 loss but the Longhorns had to gamble and gave up a bunch of touchdowns that made it look worse than it was.

Sure they can beat lesser teams but when it's crunch time they fold like a cheap tent.

Phil...I'm a big Texas homer....but running over the likes of NM St. and Rice is all fun and games but when the talent is even on the field...it comes down to coaching and thats where Texas has trouble. I'll be interested to see if DC can come up with a scheme for Tech.

App St. ,Tulane, North Carolina and Texas - Coach Brown has NEVER won a CONFERENCE championship at any of these places. Why did UT think they could win a NATIONAL championship when their coach has not won a college championship of any kind?
He's a pretty good salesman though and you bought him, Texas - let the buyer beware. (I'll admit that he's filled up the stands and the program is better now than before he showed up, but UT wanted to win CHAMPIONSHIPS and hired someone without experience in that area)

Speaking of Texas, I've got a friend at work who said Darrell Royal might be coming to her house to watch the game this weekend. Her family is friends with the main broadcaster guy for UT (don't know his name), whos knows Darrell Royal. I requested an autograph so if he came over she better have gotten me one!
