65 Years of Tradition. How many other teams in Texas have been in the same stadium for that long? Home of the Jasper Bulldogs, also known at various times as "THE ALAMO"' the "DOGHOUSE". and now commonly referred to as "THE BONEYARD"!

Can't wait to see it Mustang04! Actually Jacksonville plays in something called the Tomato Bowl built during the same era, unless they have a new stadium.

If you don't mind having a sig line that looks a little like mine, help yourself. I am going to use it if I can figure it out. But I will not be fancy with the sig like you are.

The Navasota Rattlers' Brule Field was built by FDR's Works Progress Administration in the early 30's.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about Jasper.

I was in Jasper for the first time in 8 years on Friday and it was indeed nice to see the old stadium.

I got to see the bowl in Sweetwater for the first time last year. It is indeed nice; however, I came away disappointed for whatever reason. I suppose it just couldn't live up to the hype.

Here is another picture of Sweetwater's Mustang Bowl taken back in 1957. (I guess this was before colors were invented)!

Not sure what year it was built but San Saba has been playing in the "Graveyard" for a long time. The land it was built on was actually a cemetary, when the land was donated to the school most of the bodies were moved and Rogan Field was built.

LOL, yes believe it or not, a few bodies didn't have any family around anymore to pay for relocation, so the tombstones were removed and the bodies remained in place. Not sure the exact number, and if it makes it any better I don't think they are directly under the playing field, just within the stadium. ESPN/sportscenter had a segment about the field about 10 years ago. Sports Illustrated also had an article the same year.

 That would give the "Bone Yard" a chilling new meaning!

Why would the families have to pay for relocation of bodies? Those plots were bought by the families/deceased to place their loved ones (or be placed) there. Shouldn't whoever owned the football field been responsible for relocation costs? At least, that's how I see it.

Looks like the Bone Yard could use a face lift.

Mustnag Bowl now that is a place to do the humpty dance
