for you guys in Central and South Texas? Hope not too much of your property has been damaged by all the water. Hope it all subsides before Friday for the games. We're thinking about you up here in North Texas, hope you and your families are o.k.

The local news on television this morning reported numerous water rescues in areas primarily around El Campo. The pictures on tv looked devastating.:(

There are a number of schools being closed either before the day started or during the day. I hope all the students that are being sent home during the day have arrived safely at home.

Pretty much every school in Bastrop County let the kids go home early. It's been raining in Austin continuously in Austin since Saturday morning and I haven't seen the sun in 2 weeks!

We had the pleasure of digging a ditch in our back yard in College Station last night to keep the water from getting into our house. It was just lovely. But it worked.

I'm here in Yoakum and we got about 7" of rain in two days. It's been raining off and on all day today. Our Friends in Gonzales has had a really bad day. They got a lot of rain and VERY strong winds. Up about 40-70 mph. and hail. We've been under tornado watchs and warnings. Whew, I'm tired.

Just remember the safety rule when it comes to flooded roads----if you're not absolutely sure that all the water you want to cross is not over a few inches deep---back up and find another way! Water weighs over 7lbs. a gallon, and many thousands of pounds of moving water has absolutely no problem moving your 2000lb car.

Yikes! I hope it stops raining. Any word when it's suppose to stop raining there? My sis who lives in Austin was telling me it had been raining there for the last couple of weeks, on and off and that she was getting real tired of the rain.

Yep - 3 1/2 feet........ the judge's paneling in the living room was taken out and stripped and revarnished and stained and you can still see the water marks..... (if the sun shines just right on it) I think we are OK in my neighborhood.. They are predicting a crest of 41 ft on Thurs and it was 50 ft in 98......... all depends on what more comes down stream. Looks like you guys are getting hit right now too.

i was told by 2 seperate friends from San Antonio that a woman was killed in a high water rescue in the city during this storm. . . also. . . the University of the Incarnate Word (my old school) sits right on the source of the San Antonio river, and has flooded small creeks around campus. . .

Ya the woman was doing the driving in water around the blocked off road thing. It's a shame when people don't pay attention then get stranded and get fined for being stranded. Seguin is pretty calm right now although i have not been driving around because i hear down town area was a mess earlier.
