Do you mean when you are traveling East or West?

If you are traveling West then the West begins in St. Loius MO.

If you are in Texas traveling West, then it begins in Weatherford.

Your West Texas schools will all be in region I. Where the West begins is anyone's guess.

Although Weatherford, which is just West of Fort Worth does sound like a good Eastern edge.

Stephenville is the answer to your question.

Ok if you are on I-20 or I-30 then it's Weatherford. Which is the first larger town West of the I-20 I-30 split.

If you are down on I-10 I would say somehwhere in the neighborhood of Kerrville.

If you are on some state highway in the middle of the State, I would say as soon as you cross I-35.

Many folks say that I-35 is the dividing line from top to bottom.

 Well, Brady is supposed to be the central point of Texas, so it seems to me that would be the dividing point of east vs west.

Another thought.....if I-35 is the dividing point, that might help explain why we have to travel so freaking far for district games. :D

Hwy 281 looks like a good border to me.
I know that people in Eastland and Brownwood consider themselves to be West Texans.

Bubba Joe has broken out the map
West Texas
from Just south of Ciudad Acuna on the Rio Grande take 377 north to Junction on into Lampasas, then hop on 281 up through Stephenville and Mineral Wells on into Jacksboro, where you jump onto 148 and head into Henrietta and Petrolia, keep on bearing north to the Red River
anythin West of that Line is WEST TEXAS
anythin on the otherside is east Texas

Bubba Joe apologises to LH Mom
you got left in the east

LH Panther Mom

Well, coach...of course. I was born in Alaska when he was finishing up his Army duty. We moved to Pecos so he could begin his coaching career.

Bubba-Joe
