Comfort Food

I am getting a sense of some tension today. Maybe it is the weather, pre-game anxiety, post-game blues, or just plain being upset with something. So to change the subject let's talk about "comfort food" since it was mentioned in a post this morning. When you think of Comfort Food - what do you think of? :p

French Toast and Ham
My Famous Chicken Cassarole
Mrs.Grass' Chicken Noodle Soup
Spaghetti Soup w/ BREAD!!!

I have a comfort drink anytime I get down I usually drown my sorrows in a 12 pack of Big Red, mint chocolate chip ice cream works for me too but never mix them

it's actually quite simple, and gives you leftovers for a while

Make spaghetti with your favorite ingredients and enjoy with pasta as you normally would
Refridgerate Leftover sauce (you can add the noodles if you want)
(this allows the flavors to blend well)
Then, the next day take sauce (w/ or w/o noodles) and add liquids and other things that you would like in your soup....our family usually adds zuchini, tomato sauce, corn (if dad makes it) and anything else that comes to mind
Stir and simmer to allow more flavor blending

Bread:
This is good either with the spaghetti or the soup....
Take your favorite kind of bread (i prefer the french baggettes--yeah french and italian can mix)
place bread slices on cookie sheet and set oven to broil
mix melted butter, rosemary, oregano, garlic, and any other seasonings together in small bowl and brush on bread
Place in oven and watch carefully-it may burn!
Remove, Serve, and Enjoy!

I think that's enough for today's cooking class! lol:D

Crabman's wife makes this Enchilada Casserole that is really good and quick and easy.. My family loves that..... How can you go wrong with Corn Tortillas, Cheese and Hamburger Meat

I have some friends in Alabama and they eat homemade biscuits with hershey's syrup on it......... hhhmmm two of my favs but not sure I like them together

buiscuits & sausage gravy
beans and cornbread with fresh onion
grilled cheese sandwich (es)
I could go on...

;) ........I think I just gained 12 pounds thinking about this stuff!

I second that! Cheese enchiladas, tortilla soup, lo mein, Kreuz/Rudy's BBQ, and/or thick cheese pan pizza also do the trick......

A nice warm pepperoni calzone covered in garlic butter also does the trick for me
