DENTON – Gainesville scored on their first play from scrimmage and never looked back in a 36-13 win over Graham Friday in a class 3-A Division 1 Bi-District playoff at C.H.Collins Athletic Complex in Denton.
Jerome Hewitt scored on a 20 yard run on Gainesville's first offensive play. Terrius Purvey, who rushed for 136 yards, added a 40 yard touchdown run, and Da'Ron Calhoun hauled in a 24 yard touchdown pass from Travis Sutton as Gainesville took a 23-7 halftime lead.
Gainesville (8-3) will take on Decatur in the area round of the playoffs.
