I hope our Pirates can live up to their ranking.
Didn't 5A Austin Bowie just beat CC Moody and Sinton at the Whataburger tourney?
They should be ranked. http://images.bravenet.com/brpics/smilie/mischievous.gif

It appears this was a preseason coaches poll, and has yet to be updated. There will probably be an update next week. For those of you interested in high school baseball, you can visit this poll at www.thsbca.com (http://www.thsbca.com) .

I have seen Jasper play! You need to put them right below Sinton in the poll....They went 4 rounds in 4A last year and basically have the team back to play again in 3A...I would think that Bridge City, Lorena, and Barbers Hill, plus Sinton are the only ones with a team that can even challenge them this year in baseball.

I understand what you're saying, but this wasn't my poll, it is the coaches poll from the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Website.

These are PRE-SEASON rankings. Due to weather and lack of games updated poll probably won't be available until next week sometime.

How is East Benard ranked when they got beat by Rice.East Bernard in 2A being beaten by Rice in 3A might not affect their ranking. But, as noted, this is a preseason poll and probably will not be updated until the real season begins.

Something tells me that this is going to be the Gulf Coasts year. Odem (2A), Sinton (3A), CC Calallen (4A), and CC Moody (5A) all have solid teams. I wouldnt be surprised to see Odem and Sinton playing at Disch-Falk in June.

I agree District 303. It would be great if all of them made it to Austin this year. Also let's not forget softball where Kingsville in 4A and George West in 2A may have a good run to Austin this year.

To Phil C. 3A looks loaded with coastal teams # 1 Splendora, They have Melissa Collins, a top 5 in the nation pitcher trained by the Beaumont Blast organization but, this year, switched to a Houston Select team because of the distance to travel to practice. #2 Bridge City, Loaded with home run Select trained batters and Laura Gremillion and Megan Godwin both proven aces at the mound. Hamshire-Fannett and #8 ranked Kirbyville, with Beaumont Blast ace Holly Tankersley, are truly sleepers- they too have some hard-hitting girls that can turn a game around. There are more good team along the south gulf coast.
