Canton is sitting at home at 8-2. Gotta hate that. Also, Hallsville, a 4a school, is sitting at home. They even beat Texas High this year. This is from another site... www.texashsfootball.com

Best teams to not make the playoffs
Class 3A
1. Sanger (6-4)
2. Vernon (5-5)
3. Shepherd (7-3)
4. Princeton (7-3)
5. Canton (8-2)
6. Llano (6-4)
7. Atlanta (3-7)
8. Anahuac (6-4)
9. Aransas Pass (7-3)
10. Bandera (4-6)

Have heard that Vernon is loaded in roundball as well as Aransas Pass. Interesting to say the least!!!

I was looking forward to Canton being in the playoffs, but unfortunately that did not happen. Canton started out great, but they lost the games in district when they mattered. Got to feel bad for the seniors on the team.

Sorry AP Panther mom, but i gotta say this. . .

AP should not be on this list. They went 6-0, and then 1-3 in district... not one of the 'best teams not to make the playoffs'... they are, however ranked 2nd only behind CC West Oso in a basketball magazine that i saw at HEB. . .

AP fell apart after the Ingleside game. I watched it happen... you could see flashes throughout the game, but there was no consistency. Their entire line was getting eaten up all game long, and close to the end of the third quarter it finally took it's toll on that big RB of theirs. You could almost see his heart sink down from his chest. Should've been a closer game.

AP regressed after that. From the way things looked they just gave up. I'm sure that playing Sinton the very next week didn't help at all, but they still had more than enough talent to take out Goliad. They should've been the third team from District 30 to make the playoffs, but sometimes that isn't the way it works out.

As far as hoops go, they're ranked top-10 in just about every poll I've seen. Them and West Oso have two of the best hoops programs in Region IV. Hell, AP's been to the Regional Final the past four years and to the State Tournament in two of those four.
