if the tarpons were looking for anymore momentum this is it. this was the last ap poll of the season. after winning nine straight games and winning ditrict 32-3a this is a good feeling for the tarpons ( 9-1 6-0) going into the playoffs. how far do you think they'll go.

We did beat a 4A playoff team and lost to a 5A school whose district was the hardest in the valley. An 8-2 team from that district did not make it to playoffs. Isn't that sad? I think Port Isabel has what it takes. Let's go get them TARPONS!!! Peace up, A-Town down.

I've seen Ingleside play and let me tell you, I'm not impressed by them at all. They're incosistent with their offense. If they get past Cotulla, they will face a strong Tarpon team. I know the Tarpons are getting past the second round for sure. I'll be there again to watch Ingleside lose:evillaugh. Peace up, A-Town down.

I saw them play Sinton. They got more than they can handle. They won't be able to handle the Tarpons either. I know that for a fact. Port Isabel and Sinton have similar styles. The QB was throwing bad passes. I think it was just Sinton that made him throw like that. The "Seawall Defense" will give them more than they expect. ;) Peace up, A-Town down.

LOL..as opposed to the Tarpon's schedule?? alright, i'm done talkin smack...i really do wish P.I. the best, i know they have a great team. we have to think about the FIRST round before we can really get busy talkin smack about the SECOND. i know P.I. and Ingleside are both favored in their first round matchups...but you never know..stranger things have happened. Aransas Pass was a heavy fav. over us this year...and it was pretty lopsided in the opposite direction...so ya just never know. good luck Tarpons!

I agree with you. Let's worry about the 1st round first. I know what you mean, last year we were underdogs all post-season long. I know that we can't rely on ranks and things like that. I'm pretty sure the Tarpons know that by now. Good luck to the Mustangs. Peace up, A-Town down.

Los Fresnos (32-5A) Their district this year was a tough one. San Benito won that district 10-0. The second and thirs spots went to Harlingen and Pace. They both had 8-2 Records. Rivera had the same record but missed the playoffs. Los Fresnos finished after them four in the district.

Monterrey Tech -They're a team from Mexico. You should have seen these guys. They were big. If they had a better coaching staff, they would be a force.

PSJA Memorial (32-4A) - They made the playoffs as a third place team. Edcouch Elsa is in their district which are ranked 8th in state.

Falfurrias (31-3A) - They've been good the last few years, but this year they just didn't have what it takes.

Hidalgo* (32-3A) - 1st District game. They fought with Lyford for the 3rd place spot.

Lyford* (32-3A) - Port Isabel lost to them last year. (It was a fluke.) They were co-district champs with Port Isabel last year. This year, they fought for the 3rd place team. They're in the playoffs.

Raymondville* (32-3A) - They're always a good team, but this year they had a lot of injuries and I don't know what else happened to them.

La Feria* (32-3A) - They always make the playoffs. They go Div.1 and lose the second round because they have to play Sinton. This year they're going to play Zapata. They have an awesome D. Maybe they can pull an upset.

Rio Hondo* (32-3A) - Was a good team a few years ago. They haven't really done that good lately, but next year they should be a good team.

Progreso* (32-3A) - Final District game. Progreso has never been good. I don't know when the last time they made the playoffs was. Their program looked better than the years before this year. They actually scored on teams. They should be a little better next year.
