No doubt!

Why do you think they've made such an improvement over what they've done in the past few years?

They are a much improved from the team I watched twice last year. I think the veer fits their talent very well. The QB does an excellent job in his decision making and finds the open receiver very well. Congrats to the Tigers on a perfect regular season and good luck throughout the playoffs.

Silsbee runs a split back veer offense and they just have so many guys they can use as a threat............. Silsbee coaches deserve this undefeated season.

A really awesome team. I had a feeling 2 years ago during a scrimmage we had with them that they had something special about to happen. Being a small 4A team for a few years they took their lumps but once they got down to 3A wow! Lots of talent and some good size. Hope they go a long way in the playoffs, nobody deserves it more. By the way yaw have an awesome football stadium.

Congrats to Silsbee!!! They have a great team. I know how it feels to have a turn around like that. BC did that in 2000. The Cards went 0-10 in '99 to district champs in '00.

Congratulations Silsbee on a 9-0 season. Cleveland picked a good one not to show up at.

I thought they went 1 - 19?

2002 1-9
2003 0-10
2004 9-0 District Champs

Now that's improvement!! Congrats to the McGallion brothers and SHS on the turn around.

You know, it's funny...

With 2 daughters, I am, and have been for the past 6 years, heavily involved in girls' youth sports, and I have learned one thing...

You can teach kids skills, you can go through drills over and over, you can teach them how to play the games, you can show them how it all works, but until they BELIEVE in themselves, it's ALL FOR NAUGHT!

Until they have the self-confidence to go out, believing they can win, they will find a way to not perform. But once they have CONFIDENCE, you can't stop them! YOU CAN'T HOLD THEM BACK! They will make unbelievable plays above their skill level, over-come obstacles they would have tripped over before, and make it all look easy!

I think that's what has happened to Silsbee. YES, they have speed. YES, they have size. YES, they have good coaching. But I remember seeing all of that last year in a scimmage against BC, thinking they would tear up their 4A District, and instead, they flopped. This year, they are playing with confidence, KNOWING they can win every game, and MAKING IT HAPPEN! Is it because they dropped to 3A? I D K! Whatever it is, it's working!

Division 1 - GET READY - Silsbee is gona be hard to handle!

I think so too. I think the change into a simpler offense probably is the biggest key to their success. When I saw them play against Liberty last year it was terrible. They were completely out of cink. They know what they are doing now and execute it very well.

great post..........the team u saw last year in a scrimmage is not the team that took the field week 1......the qb (this years starter)...went down for the year before the first game.....we also lost other key starters as the year progressed........hard to compete in that league when u lose players and are on the short end of the enrollment stick to begin with. good luck to bc in the playoffs as well!!
