I would really like to see an Iowa Park and Sweetwater region I showdown. That would be a great game. Congrats to the Mustangs. I'll be pulling for you.

Sweetwater 52, Merkel 7

Sweetwater piled up 538 rushing as the Mustangs moved past Merkel 52-7 Friday night.

Three Mustang players topped the 100-yard barrier led by Skye Green with 170 yards. Green had touchdown runs of 69 yards and 34 yards. Alan Copeland rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns and Jeremy Thompson added 103 yards.

Riley Lambert was the lone bright spot for Merkel with 110 yards rushing and the Badgers’ only score.

Sweetwater will play Seminole at Ratliff Stadium. The time has still to be decided.

Does that mean you think Seminole will beat Sweetwater? Or that the Indians will stay closer than what most would expect?

Sweetwater is real good dont get me wrong but everyone probably thinks this will be a blow out, but it will be closer than exspected but sweetwater should win but by few, seminole dont got a pretty record at 5-5 but they have turned it on the last 5 games, they sucked at the first of the season but something happened in seminole and they r playing some football.

Congrats to Sweetwater. What an explosive offense. I ended up at Sweetwater after all, and it was what I would call a good old fashion butt kicken. Proud of the Badgers win or lose keep heads up and support your district top three in the playoffs.

Can't say that I know any about Seminole this year. If Sweetwater comes out in that game like they did in this one, not many teams will be able to stop them. Good luck to Sweetwater, Syder and Wylie. Hope to be able to see some of the playoff games of any of the three if they are within our area. Keep us posted.

Here are the results for Seminole this year.

@ Post (5-2A) won: 6-0
Canyon (1-3A) lost: 9-40
@ Levelland (2-3A) lost: 14-28
Muleshoe (2-3A) lost: 6-25
Lubbock Cooper (2-3A) lost: 3-50
@ Midland Greenwood (3-3A) lost: 0-21
@ Pecos (3-3A) won: 48-18
Monahans (3-3A) won: 44-26
@ Fort Stockton (3-3A) won: 34-27
Lamesa (3-3A) won: 39-14

The loss to Levelland sticks out most to me. Regardless, Seminole put together a nice 4 game winning streak and cant be taken lightly. I belive Coach Jackson is actually a Seminole high graduate.
