I've been trying to call my dad to get a few updates here and there. But, he either doesn't have his phone on or there is no signal in the stadium.

Just heard on the WOS webcast that the game in Jasper has been delayed because the stadium lights went out. No report of score.

Lots of close games tonight in East Texas. WOS / BC went to OT with WOS winnning.
I think the Barber's Hill game went to OT.
Newton beat East Chambers by 1 score.

Well Jasper had to win by more than 16 points and win a coin flip to play Rusk in Bi-District, but it looks like they can't now and WILL play Diboll in Lufkin on Friday?

Congrats Silsbee--now go win that D1 Championship.

Don't get down Dogs--you lost to a good team. The season starts all over now and you'll have more of your personnel back. Now let's get that D2 Championship!

Well, it was a good game and we still go to the playoffs! So, can't be too upset! Congrats to Silsbee 10-0!

The coach made an excellent decision to go for 2 because our percentage is very low in extra points.

Diboll just hung 72 on their opponent. I don't think anyone wants to play them at this moment. Finley scored once.

Diboll just came out of a 72-33 win over Westwood.

Correction Finley scored 3 times for 46 yards, Diboll's Leading scorer RB Lewis scored once......

I hope our all our fans come out to support our boys next week. I know none of us expected to place 3rd in district (OUCH--that hurts). But, our district turned out much tougher than expected. And, having our key players out hurt.

How fortunate Diboll is to have Jasper in the first round. Hopefully they will be prepared to face a tough Jasper team. Last year's meeting was 22-15, but this is a different year and different teams....may the best team win.

I think Diboll/Jasper may very well be a repeat of tonights Jasper/Silsbee game in excitement!
Yep, 3rd in district sucks, but we earned it. No excuses, just plain facts. Now we have our work cut out for us to advance very far in the playoffs. I hope we do, but I wonder..........
I will be there at every game, cheering them on. I had to leave early tonight because of sickness, but from this point on, that won't stop me. Just ask anyone who saw me at the Burnet game last year. I was in PAIN!!! Anyway, GO DAWGS!

Seems like the D1 championship is more in Decatur's favor than anyone else at this point!

I live in Wichita Falls. I've seen them play. They are dam good but not good enough to beat say a WO-S, Silsbee, Cuero or Gilmer.

well me and J_dog made the journey to watch this one as well. Man what a game. Silsbee got the ball first and drove the length of the field and threw an interception. Jasper then had a decent drive going and threw an interception. Silsbee pounded the ball on the lead option all night. Took it and scored to go up 7-0. Jasper answered right back and went for 2 and made it 8-7. I don't quite understand Jasper's reason for going for 2 all night. The extra point attempts were pretty solid at Coldspring and Shepherd I though. Anyways, Silsbee's quarterback had Jasper's defense off balance most of the game, especially the first half. Some nice passes, scrambles and option plays lead to another score and 15-7. Jasper had several nice kickoff returns and on this one almost broke it. Gilbert Moye, Jasper's quarterback, no doubt caused Silsbee's coach to skip a beat everytime he took off with the ball and lead Jasper to another score after Jasper and Silsbee exchanged the ball once or twice and made the score 15-14 on the failed 2 attempt. Silsbee had the ball and was driving late in the 2nd quarter and threw an interception with less than 1:50 to go. On the first play Moye bobbed and weaved his way through traffic for a phenominal 70+ yard TD run. 2 point conversion was good. 22-15 halftime.

No score in 3rd quarter. Silsbee was unfortunate to fumble the ball through the endzone on what looked very close to a TD from my vantage which wasn't on the goalline. 4 turnovers for them on the night, 3 picks and that fumble. Jasper fumbled again in this quarter on a nice run by the younger Bronson who had a terrific collision with a Tiger lineman and made his way through him and another Tiger before coughing up the ball on hardnose running. (going to be fun to see him as the feature back one day).

4th quarter Jasper just never could capitalize on opportunities. Several 4th down attempts came up short in the game because of slipping down, bothced snaps and fumbles. Silsbee finally breaks through in the fourth with 3:55 to play and ties it. Jasper is stopped cold and Silsbee gets the ball on the Jasper 35 after Jasper fails to get off the punt on a bad snap. Silsbee gets a first down or two and misses their 2nd field goal of the night. On to OT.

Silsbee scores fairly easily and makes extra point.

Jasper scores on super run by Moye and elects for two. Honestly I think he made it in but once again I wasn't on the goalline. Some around me said they saw the near line judge indicate TD and then put his arms down when the ball was jarred lose. Mad scramble for the ball was recoverd on the goal line and ruled no good. Game over.

Tremendously fun game to watch and congrats to the Tigers. You guys have some real skilled players. Jasper's passing game looked poor and my criticism of Jasper's play selection remains in that I think the constant home-run pass is ineffective against athletes like Doss. You aren't going to out run him and you certainly aren't going to throw it over him. Moye seems to only know one receivers number. Maybe I am wrong but that is the way it looked. Boy Patton sure wanted to play and actually got in for one play as a decoy. Jasper's rushing defense seemed to figure out the veer at times and at times Silsbee was unstoppable. It was an excellent game despite the penalties, turnovers and cold weather. There was hard hitting going on in this one. Jasper's defense might have given up a bunch of yards but they sure enjoy putting the Riddel on people.

Good job Silsbee and good luck.

Congrats to Silsbee.
My in-laws live many blocks away and they said it was the loudest game they have ever heard in many years of living there.
We realized it was because they are in prime position to hear the visiting side. Silsbee side was packed and brought the noise!
That loss of the 2 points at the end was a heart breaker. My mom thought it was in and started celebrating. I couldn't see it. I heard Moye thought it was in also, but who knows. Again, congrats to Silsbee, it was a great game.
