the 3-4 defense will only work if you have a noseguard that is a mackdaddy or other teams will run on you all night

Depends on the personnel. I like seeing a team that has the players to run a 3-4... they're usually a fast defense and exciting to watch.

My personal favorite defense is coach jones form of the 3-4 it is really effective, coach jones is an amazing defensive coordinater and is great with in game adjustments

And yes the personell does matter and thats why Decatur runs the 3-4 our inside backers focus on trap, counter, Q's and draws while our outside backers watch sweep, screens, and slants.

Multi-front Split 6 can give you a balanced 8 man front, a 3-4/50 look, and a 2 deep 4-3 alignment. It is really hard to do this from any of the others due to personnel and assignments.

Of course, a "sic 'em" defense like a 46, Gap 8, or 10-1 that is run the RIGHT way puts so much pressure on the offense that is very difficult to gain yards and score.

My favorite one is the one that keeps opponents scoreless. :)

I like the 4-3 defense. Unless of course you have a weak secondary. You could potentially leave receivers open.
