How did you do that? If it's just the icon, can't you go into programs & create a new icon?

Try going thru the "start" menu to see if it's really gone.

You might be able to go to the Microsoft site and get help with it. Next best thing would be to download Mozilla Firefox.

mozilla firefox works well. BTW, since im new to this, is that u aaron with the problem? firefox does a good job of blocking popups. ive had no problems with it...except that depending on what u do with ur computer, u may need explorer to do certain things... like in my case, i would need it to watch music videos on yahoo.

its ur basic browser with nothing special... the great thing is it wont get affected as much by adware or garbage u pick up. except that mine will decide not to open every now and then....pisses me off. (proly just my computer)

Go into add/remove programs within control panel. Look on the left hand side and click on Add/Remove windows components. Make sure that Internet Explorer is checked. If it already shows that it is checked you more than likely still have IE installed. Just do a search for Internet Explorer. I am sure there will be numerous shortcuts that pop up.

I am more than sure Windows does not run through IE. You can use Netscape without IE just fine. IE is just originally included with all versions of Windows. It is the preferred browser.

Firefox is the next generation browser from Mozilla (Mozilla's browser is the base code for Netscape and a few other browsers). Mozilla is an open-source community that develops internet client software (browser, email, development tools). I've been using Firefox for a few months now and have had good results, but htowntransfer is correct. There may be some sites or certain actions that would still require IE because they were built specifically for it.

For more info go to http://www.mozilla.org/products/
