This district features three extra strong teams and three normal 3A teams. Jasper, a Quarterfinalist in 4A last year returns a lot of depth on both sides of the ball,to be playing 3A! Newton, could meet Kennedale in the Finals in Division II. Newton could easily win state this year, they have flirted with it for many years now..... Diboll went 8-4 and were an area finalist in Division II. What a turnaround during last season, I watched Bridge City totally demolish them in a preseason scrimmage and was quite surprised at how they just got better and better as the season progressed! With 8 offensive starters and 6 or 7 defensive returnees they will whip some folks in the playoffs......Woodville went 5-6 and scored 2 TD's against Barber's Hill last year; however, BH's speed prevailed in the playoff event.......Kirbyville went 4-6 and if they were in some Districts would appear to have a promising year-but they have a long row to hoe in Dist. 20-3A.....Huntington returns 2/3rds of its starters from a 1-9 year, however, Marcus Hale has great speed and can embarrass you on the kickoffs and punt returns. I think this District has just as good a chance of producing two State Champions in one year, as anyone has, in the last decade.
