What year do you think that yours school's football team was the best and why?

I went to Ingleside and I would definitely have to say that it was the '95 team. They had tons of depth … Jrs and Sophs with tons of talent…. a running back by the name of Bubba Jackson who ran through a lot of people… a wide receiver by the name of Chris Rowland who I believe ran close to a 4.3.... Talk about fast! They were crazy. The most important reason though is because they had broken a 30-year drought of no postseason play. They did it in style and went 10-0 in District. Then they played Cuero in the state quarter finals and got owned, but they still played there hardest. They finished an overall 12-1 that year.

Sweetwater's only State Championship came in 1985 so i guess that would have to be the best team

IHS in 95, and it wasn't because of the talent. We probably had more pure talent in 96, 98 and 99... it was because they were smart. The QB that year, senior Ryan Peel, was the best QB that may have ever come through Ingleside because he had a higher football IQ than just about anyone. Oh, and he also had a cannon. Also, the O-line that year blocked everybody... not just around the line of scrimmage, but downfield too. As soon as the play moved they did too. You'd see them way downfield blowing up defenders.

2002 went to the state championship and lost by 3 points i just wonder what would have happened if the refs would have made the right call on the field goal in the 2nd OT what would have happened

So far, the Pirate 2001 team, hands down. Kinda hard to argue with a finalist. (only one thus far.)

Our records, up until the 2001 season, were not good. I'm not sure what the records were for many of those years, but since we moved here in 95, the best was 3-7. I do know that 1984 was the last time before 2002 season the team had 9-1 record. 2002 team went 2 rounds, knocked out in the 2nd. 2003 team went to the third before being knocked out. 2004 - who knows?
