The Trinity Tigers moved into sole possession of the SCAC championship slot with two games left in the regular season. They play College of the South Sewanee in San Antonio next Saturday at 1:30. Admission Free! This should be a great game and the Tiger offense should put up a bunch of points. They travel to Missisippi to play Milsaps the following week. The Tigers are 7-1 now and ranked 10th nationally. Other regional teams include 2nd ranked Hardin Simmons and 12th ranked Mary-Hardin
Baylor. If the Tigers win out they should be seeded 2nd in the southern regional tourney and get a bye along with topped ranked Hardin Simmons. Since seeding also determines home field advantage it is important. The Tigers will be making their 8th consecutive trip to the playoffs if they win one more game and cinch at least a tie in the SCAC (which they have won the past 11 years).

Puddlugger...HSU won big again this weekend. 41-7 over McMurry. Looks like the Cowboys and Trinity could be meeting up in a few weeks.

Hopefully they will be 1-2 in seeding in the southern regionals and will meet up in the third round. The other big team in the southern region is Washington-Jefferson. Hope Trinity pulls away from them in the next two weeks. Both teams are red hot right now and one or the other may well go five rounds to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl to meet perenial number 1 Mount Union. Mary Hardin Baylor is struggling to get an invitation to the playoffs as one of three catagory C invitations for runners up.Hardin Simmons is a tough football team and I would love to see them head to head against Trinity.
