I know at a game one of the first things I notice is the stadium announcer. Some of them have that "voice for announcing games" and really can make the game more exciting in my opinion. Some announcers are boring, but others can really liven up a game. Is the game more exciting to you when the announcer has that good "announcer voice"?

I'm not sure about more interesting but definitely more entertaining. We've had the same announcer here since the 1940's so I've been really spoiled.

Newton has had the same announcer for 50 years. His name is Sam Collins and in 50 years he has missed 1 game. He was honored at the last home game for his oustanding service. That has got to be some kind of record.

The best I've heard is the guy at PNG. He has a great voice and make the games exciting. What do you guys from WO-S think about your announcer? My wife and I crack up at some of the stuff he says.

Hey Cat 22 ask your Dad about Mr. Reed and Mr. Blanton at Freer. Mr. Reed was the announcer till he left Freer in about 1964. Then Mr. Blanton did it and may still be doing it now but I am not sure. Both were very good and very professional.

will do Phil! I've been to a few Freer games, but I was a small child and don't remember too much about them.
