Bridge City whipped undefeated Little Cypress-Mauriceville (4A) 14-7 in a rain....Orangefield lost 35-0 to 4A Lumberton. Newton was beat 28-23 by a good 4A team Jasper. Vidor who beat Bridge City 24-21 in overtime last week continued their winning ways by beating PNG(a top flight team (4A)10-7. Both BC and Newton have fared very well against big good 4A competition this year. just like Everman is doing.

The score was Jasper 27 Newton 23 but there were no lossers on that field, both teams played their heart out to the end.Jasper had Newton down 21\0 at the half,it looked Like Newton was going to pull ahead they had the ball and was moving it toward the goal line when the clock ran out.All but the first few minutes were played in a steady rain.

Sorry I missed the score on Jasper27/Newton 23....Newton has played a very rough schedule. It will be bragging rights for whoever wins 21-3A between Bridge City and Jasper. No one can even stay on the field with either team in the District play; however in Division I & II they are both going to go through the post season playoffs like "a dose of salts through a widow woman!", if they remain relatively healthy.
