Legitimate Question ?

WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF SHOE TO WEAR ON THAT NEW FIELD TURF ? SCREW INS , MOLDED, OLD TURF SHOES ? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS :cool:

We always wore what you call "screw ins" when i was in high school

on our new turf in the mustang bowl, we wore molded, but the plastic has to be hard, not like the normal black cleats

Our kids wore their cleats, some screw-ins and some molded, and did fine. Actually, we had a couple of ankle injuries, both wearing screw-ins. As a coach, I had on Adidas turf shoes(baseball) and they were real sticky...I would say turf shoes would get the job done and still have some give, whereas the screw-ins didn't.

Out of curiosity....what does someone (like Sweetwater - who has field turf) require an opponent ( like Greenwood - who has grass) to wear?

what about in the rain though?? your turf shoes may be slick.. or was it raining??

i think whatever they want to wear...

greenwood would more then likely use high heels though, that seems to be what they like to wear on the weekends

dry weather, turf or molded...wet, molded or screw-ins.
It was dry when we played on it.

I've noticed many of the pro teams linemen wearing basketball shoes and skill positions wearing a molded baseball cleat. Don't know why, that is just what I've noticed.

In 2002 when Wilber was having trouble with "turf toe" or whatever it was that was wrong with his toe, I think he wore Soccer shoes!
