1. Decatur (8-0)
2. Abilene Wylie (6-2)
3. Perryton (7-1)
4. Canyon (8-0)
5. Lubbock Cooper (7-2)
6. Sweetwater (7-2)
7. Vernon (5-3)
8. Iowa Park (7-1)
9. Graham (5-3)
10. Snyder (7-2)

Region I looks good but there are some others that need mentioning. Decatur is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. However, I would bet that Wylie would like another shot though.

Same with Cooper and Sweetwater. I'm sure the mustangs would like a re-match.

Graham and Vernon's order will be decided this Friday.

Iowa Park is better than 8th. Proof will come in three weeks.

Breckenridge is also a good team on the cusp of making this list. Although they need help now to make the dance.

Gainesville also should be right there. We will see how good Bowie is when these two teams play.

Nothing from district 3?

Region 3 will be "all shook up" after this week and next.

z, I have tried to not be an IP homer, but I have to agree that IP is too low. I'm glad you posted that because I was definately thinking it.

Here's the thing about these. Are we trying to gauge who is the best team or are we gauging who has had the best season? In either of those cases, I think IP is top 5. Even though Vernon beat them, they have 3 losses, as does Graham. So is IP having a better season? I would say definately considering IP and Vernon have similar opponents and IP looked much more impressive against those common foes.

I guess I just have a problem with 4 teams with more losses being ahead of the Hawks. Especially considering the fact that they have played a tough schedule.

I think Gainesville could beat any of the teams listed 5-10.. but thats just me

I think IP stands a better chance moving through the playoffs due to the diversity of the offense. Graham and Vernon both have to work on the passing game, otherwise they will find 11 in the box!

I also agree in part that IP has had a better season than both Graham and Vernon. I know the Vernon faithful hated to drop one to Burk. Of course it all started over when district play began and it will all start over again when the playoffs begin. Nevertheless all three are good teams and should advance in the playoffs. What a great time it is right now for these young men.

Gainesville is also good Kieth! Just don't know where to put them. After the loss to Decatur and then to IP it has been hard for them to get back up in the rankings.

if you saw them now then i think it would be alot easier for u to fit them in your rankings.. losing to decatur shouldnt effect thier rankigns too much cuz i dont think ANY 3a team could beat decatur.. now I.P. i understand.. but in a rematch played today, Gainesville would win

I don't buy that. The IP win over Gainesville was not by a point or two was it?

So for now teams most likely going Div I: 1. Cuero, 3. Sinton, West Columbia, 6. Zapata, 7. La Vernia 8. Wimberly

Div II teams: 2. Liberty Hill, 5. Port Isabel, 9. Ingleside, 10. Wharton

I like Port Isabels chances :D

Defensively PI is playoff ready, offensively they need some tweaking.

I was VERY impressed with Breck on Friday...and Graham actually played a very good 2nd half so that was nice to see as well! I think they ran at least 7 or 8 different plays...

DI gonna be a tough bracket this year.... Most,(not all LH) most of the best teams are going in D1.

Having seen these teams play, I would have Silsbee at #2, Kirbyville at #6, and maybe Barbers hill sneaking in at #10
