Well,
Here is the short version...
Bridgeport, Decatur, Lake Worth, Little Elm... these teams remain
from the previous realignment.
Carrolton-Ranchview - Was added to the District. They are a new
school in Carrolton ISD, and opened in 2002. The website is here...
http://www.cfbisd.edu/schools/ran/schoolpro.htm
They do have a football program. But,from the website it looks like that
with the new school, they are just filling out the 9th and 10th grades for
the 2003-2004 school year. My interpretation of this plus their current
basketball schedules lead me to believe they will not field a Varsity
football team next season, just a freshman and JV.
Sanger - Moved to District 6-3A (with Bowie, PP, Whitesboro, G'ville,
Pottsboro)
Lake Dallas - Moved up in classifcation to district 9-4A, (with
Frisco, Frisco Centennial, Justin Northwest, Keller Central, Lake Dallas,
Lewisville Hebron, McKinney, McKinney North)
With these changes the Disctrict appears to have six schools. And my
assumptions are that next year there will only be five teams playing varsity
football.
The other interesting thing is that with the new school only having two
grades (lower enrollment?), I'll bet that Decatur is now the largest school
in District. That means a probable Div. I playoff scenario, but no Everman
(moved ot 4A) or Kennedale (went to 10-3A) in the early rounds. Of course, now Gainesville is in Region I...
Very interesting.
