District 27 4A is now in a four way tie for first with Burnet, Lake Travis, New Braunfels Canyon and Dripping Springs all 2-1 in district. Burnet's biggest challenge left in district play will be next week against Lake Travis. Their last district game is at home against 0-3 marble Falls.
Its a wide open district at this point, but Burnet has an excelent chance of making the playoffs. As of last night they have beaten both of the big New Braunfels teams. Unfortunatly, Burnet played a huge part in letting Dripping Springs beat them the week before last. Its very unusual for the Bulldogs to overlook a team or take a team for granted, but thats exactly what they did with Dripping Springs. DS showed up prepared and Burnet didn't and this resulted in a bad loss for Burnet. This came a week after the best game Ive EVER seen the Bulldogs play in 36-34 4 overtine victory over heavely favored New Braunfels Canyon. The only other team Burnet has lost to this year was a good 5A San Marcos team. Next weeks district games are:

Burnet at Lake Travis - This game could go either way but LT will probabley be favored (At least by the Austin American Statesman)

New Braunfels Canyon at Marble Falls - NBC will win this one.

Dripping Springs at New Braunfels - This game could go either way, but Im probabley going to have to pick NB on this one.

The way the teams in District 27A have been playing any thing can happen. Next week will be criticle. We will see. :)
