Well the Red Raiders have been waiting for this game for freakin' ever. And I expect all hell to break loose the minute I enter Lubbock tomorrow night wearing my burnt orange.
Basically, this is an odd series. It seems that UT wins when it's at DKR and Tech wins when it's in Lubbock. And the last couple of games has shown that no team will score over 45 points. But given that Tech has scored 70 twice, that "history" could change this year.
Tech needs to step up the defense and stop VY and Ced. If they can do that then they have the offensive power to stay in the game. Also, seeing as how Greg Davis is a )@($&@*^&&*^, he will manage so somehow screw up the offense as usual.
Meanwhile, back on the 40 Acres, Greg Robinson is just like Jesus. He helped us out this year, bringing in a powerful D led by Derrick Johnson (a Lombardi Semi-Finalist and a a Butkus Semi-Finalist). And trust me--DJ will track every move that Cumbie makes and put a hurtin' on him. I think the Texas Defense will pressure the Red Raiders, but Mike Leach is crazy (and hilarious, might I add) and will probably have some tricks up his sleeve.
It will be a wild a crazy night on the plains of West Texas and I can't wait.
Texas - 45
Texas Tech - 38
***ALSO--If Tech wins this game, they could go to the Alamo or Cotton. If UT wins, they are still in line to go to a BCS, but the chances seem dimmer every day. As of right now, I still have us in the Fiesta playing either West Virginia or in the Rose against Cal. Should we lose, look for us to be in the Cotton or Holiday--yet again. :(
