Well the Red Raiders have been waiting for this game for freakin' ever. And I expect all hell to break loose the minute I enter Lubbock tomorrow night wearing my burnt orange.

Basically, this is an odd series. It seems that UT wins when it's at DKR and Tech wins when it's in Lubbock. And the last couple of games has shown that no team will score over 45 points. But given that Tech has scored 70 twice, that "history" could change this year.

Tech needs to step up the defense and stop VY and Ced. If they can do that then they have the offensive power to stay in the game. Also, seeing as how Greg Davis is a )@($&@*^&&*^, he will manage so somehow screw up the offense as usual.

Meanwhile, back on the 40 Acres, Greg Robinson is just like Jesus. He helped us out this year, bringing in a powerful D led by Derrick Johnson (a Lombardi Semi-Finalist and a a Butkus Semi-Finalist). And trust me--DJ will track every move that Cumbie makes and put a hurtin' on him. I think the Texas Defense will pressure the Red Raiders, but Mike Leach is crazy (and hilarious, might I add) and will probably have some tricks up his sleeve.

It will be a wild a crazy night on the plains of West Texas and I can't wait.

Texas - 45
Texas Tech - 38

***ALSO--If Tech wins this game, they could go to the Alamo or Cotton. If UT wins, they are still in line to go to a BCS, but the chances seem dimmer every day. As of right now, I still have us in the Fiesta playing either West Virginia or in the Rose against Cal. Should we lose, look for us to be in the Cotton or Holiday--yet again. :(

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Rose Bowl for the winner of the Pac-10 and the Big-10....I'd like to see how UT would get in there.

you are right

"The granddaddy of all college bowl games, the Rose Bowl is an annual sports ritual to kick off the new year (no pun intended). For nearly nine decades, the clash between the PAC-10 and Big-10 conference winners has attracted millions of TV viewers, along with more than 100,000 rabid football fans who pack the Rose Bowl stadium in person to paint their faces and root for their teams."

Thanks for your pre-game thoughts, KTJ. It's going to be a great game. I'll have to disagree with you on the score - 42-28, Tech over UT. Of course, I'll be back to eat my crow if I'm wrong. (Exactly the reason I hate to predict....) :)

Yeah, the Rose Bowl is traditionally Pac-10 vs. Big 10 but they courted Texas last year and are doing it this year too. Many bowl projection sites even have Texas in the Rose Bowl as well.

They don't HAVE to always take Pac 10 vs. Big Televen.

Hey KTJ are you going to have a great Saturday and Sunday in Austin? You can catch the Lady Horns playing Volleyball there at 3:00 P.M. Saturday against Kansas State. Then go watch the UT vs Tech football game then on Sunday in Austin at 1:00 P.M. the Lady Horns Soccer team plays No. 6 ranked Kansas. A great potential weekend. I wish I could be in Austin then.

Teach goes crazy and wins by alot at home! LAST IT WAS A very CLOSE game IN TEXAS, and tech had no D whatsoever. This year their D is much improved and the O is as strong as ever. Texas also had a better team last year.

Your giving UT's secondary way too much credit for going against an offensive powerhouse of that magnitude

Phil--

I'm going to the game in Lubbock.

Also, I like how none of the Aggys are giving us a chance. I hope they realize that Tech owns them and will beat them at Kyle as well as them losing to us at DKR.

:D

Alright--I'm heading to Lubbock in about 10 minutes.

Aggy has lost, what, 4 in a row to UT now? And Aggy has lost 7 of the last 9 to Tech.

So what crow would I be eating?

I think it shows UT is worthy of their top ten ranking. I can't imagine how anyone could have put a point spread of this game. I had no clue what the score would be.
