I am wondering if the NFL is losing its luster because of the contraversial figures and scandal.

too much of the "i'm a pro who reads the stock market before the sports section" They feel they can do anything they want in the NFL, their hearts really arent all that into it anymore....

Gimme a good hs football game anyday!! :D

I miss the battle of 290 (Elgin/Manor)

To be honest I would rather watch any 3a high school team play their rival than watch an NFL game.

The biggest difference is that most of us can actually go to a 3A football game whereas most of us will probably never see (in person) a big time NFL game. I'll still take the 3A rivalry game.

You can't beat Texas High School football! We just played our biggest rival last week and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Of course, it was that much sweeter that we won!

You don't feel as connected to the pro teams as you do your hometown.

What would you have said around 1993, when the Cowboys were winning it all? Do you still think you would have the same answer? (assuming you are a cowboy fan, if not insert your favorite NFL team at their height)

For most of us, it's pretty far to travel to watch an NFL game. When playoff games come along, even if distance wasn't a factor, getting a ticket might be almost impossible.

Personally, I'd rather watch a LIVE 3a football game than a playoff game on TV - or live sport of any kind than the same on TV.
