no fh,they're saving clemens for a possible game 7

11TARPON
10-19-2004, 04:23 PM
I hope that Clemens is given the 4 days rest that he needs. I would rather have the Rocket at 100% for the 7th game and not the Rocket at 80% for game 6. Hopefully Monroe will get an early lead and then hopefully he can last till the 7th or 8th ining and Lidge can come in to mop it up and then the Rocket and Oswall will be well rested for the Yankees.

Clemens against his old team...either one. What a storyline.:) :)

Stros are rolling on such a high right now and will take this game and leave a perfectly rested rocket and oswalt for the world series.

espn.com just posted munro vs. morris too, with that i think it will be Munro and Morris, 99% sure...My heart wants the Astros to win this one but my gut says the Cards will take it and the 'stros will take game 7....i hope we get it tomorrow though...

pirate4state
10-19-2004, 04:39 PM
that Munro has as good a showing as Backe!! 'Stros have huge momentum going into game 6!! I don't think my nerves can handle a game 7 in St. Louis!! 'Stros take care of business tomorrow afternoon.

Here's a question:

If the Yanks win tonight will they push back game time (for the Stros/Cards game) from 3pm to 7pm?? :D

yes they would do that, but right now on ESPN they are talkin about rain at Yankee Stadium....so tonight could be yet another rainout for hte Yankees/Soxes....hopefully they will play tonight, but if they dont they wont push our game back because their game 6 would be at the same time as ours...

I have always followed the Astros since the early 70's however, this is the first year that I got season tickets and I am fortunate that I have two tickets on the left field side just beyond the 3rd base. I bought the payoff package also and the playoff so far have been awsome. Wish everyone could experience the atmosphere in Minute Maid Park. I am praying that the Astros can win just one more. Than I can say that I have been to a World Series game and root for my team. Go Astros.

brad lidge is a closer he cant throw very many pitches he is not made to do that so therefore throwing him 2+ innings risks injury to brad lidge and in tonights case he would have gone 3+ going 4 innings. The astros werent hitting well anyways in extra innings so lets say brad lidge does pitch another inning then the next inning they are forced to bring in somebody else. and the cardinals go on later to win the game brad lidge wouldnt be avalable for tomorrows game its common sense if u have played any sort of competitive baseball (traveling team) u would know this.

random hero
10-20-2004, 07:46 PM
i agree with creditcard, they should have left him in for at least one more inning. he was pitchin too good to take him out
