But even with SHSU knocking off #1 Montana, SFA is still ranked ahead of the Bearkats. I guess we'll see who belongs where on the 30th.

UC Davis is the team to watch. They haven't been in Division I very long, but they made a huge name for themselves down in DII. The Aggies just barely lost to SFA last week and they're starting to come on. I got to see them play A&I a few years back. They have an awesome program.

BEARKATS IN NCAA DIVISION I-AA TOP 25
Sam Houston State stands 10th in this week’s ESPN/USA Today NCAA Division I-AA national rankings. SHSU climbed into the top 25 after knocking Montana out of the #1 spot on Sept. 18.

SHSU OFFENSE NO. 2 IN NCAA I-AA FOOTBALL
Sam Houston State ranks 2nd behind Southeastern Louisiana in NCAA Division I-AA football in total offense. The Lions lead with 507.8 yards per game while SHSU is averaging 505.8. The Bearkats are 2nd in the nation in passing (354.8); 4th nationally in scoring (43.2); and 5th in I-AA punt returns (16.7).

Pretty impresive stats to go along with a 5-1 record. Looks pretty good and also a tough few games ahead in SFA and Northwestern who are also ranked in the top 10. Could Possibly see three southland conference teams in the playoffs this year. Could be interesting

As a SHSU alumni I have to say Go BearKats.

I just hope that Sam, SFA, and Northwestern don't knock themselves out of the playoffs by beating each other. I would bet that only 2 of those 3 make it to the playoffs. It's too close to tell which 2 though.

That's because Dustin Long is a good qtr.back.
They have got a hell of a good team.
