Some of you wonder about football in other places. The link below is about a small town in Mississippi and its football program. A town of 450 that draws 1200 on Friday nights. By the way it has a Texas tie. It is where Roy Oswalt (the Astros pitcher) was an all-state wide receiver.

I have had the oppurtunity to work in other states. Football in Texas is TOP-DOG!!!! It just doesn't compare, the attitude, the atmosphere, and most of all, the competition. Football in Texas is incredible. Some states might (and I emphasize might) come close, but still can't stack up to TEXAS.

Look at the DeLaSalle/Bellevue game, and then look at the Denton Ryan/Southlake Carroll game and tell me, what state had better looking football?

I agree that Texas football is best but mostly because of the numbers. This is a huge state. But Mississippi has some really good teams. A Batesville, MS team South Panola is ranked in the top 15 by USA Today and they have been several times in the last few years.

Two weeks ago the starting quarterbacks on Monday night football were both Mississippi born (Steve McNair and Brett Farve).
Aslo a lot of Texas talent goes through the Mississippi Junior College to the major college level.

Just something to look at. It was not intended to be a whack at Texas football.
