West Orange-Stark 61, Anahuac 12
ANAHUAC -- For the second straight week, West Orange-Stark put the pedal to the metal, racing off to a 28-6 halftime lead before finishing with a 61-12 District 24-3A rout of Anahuac. WO-S, No. 5 in the state's Class 3A rankings, led by 32 points at halftime of last week's district opener against Hardin-Jefferson.
Sophomore tailback Earl Thomas rambled for 179 yards on 17 carries and first-half touchdowns of 18 and two yards. LaKeith Ford scored on runs of two, five and six yards for the Mustangs (4-2, 2-0).
WO-S quarterback Ryan Crouch completed nine of 13 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his scoring tosses came in the second half, as he connected with Kenneth Beasley for 21 yards early in the third quarter. Crouch executed a screen pass to Thomas for 12 yards, giving the Mustangs a 48-12 cushion with 10:17 remaining.
