Well, let me just go ahead and tell you the excuses you will hear.
1. We had several out with injuries. We also lost one tonight to injury.
2. There were several bad calls, several questionable calls, and a BUNCH of missed calls.
3. Our boys were distracted with homecoming activities.

Now...for the way it REALLY was. While the above statements are true, our boys DID NOT PLAY! They did not block. They did not run well. When we finally started passing in the fourth quarter, things were looking up. But WAY too late! We gotta get our act together before Silsbee, or we may find ourselves at home during the playoffs.

Also, Kirbyville played really well. Those boys came to play ball tonight and they handed it to us. Good job guys! But in the future, be more careful about grabbing facemasks, and holding. Not all refs will be as blind as these were. Also, watch those blocks in the back.

Heck I am not going to make excuses for Jasper...we just got beat. Art Lay and Coach Brack listed a few factors that could have contributed to the surprising outcome. They said homecoming is the week that every coach hates. They said that 2 of the 2-way starters were out..don't know who they were. I heard jasper fumble the ball and kirbyville take it back for a 50 yard touchdown. I heard Jasper kick the ball off the 2nd half and kirbyville run it back to the 15 and then have Jasper give them an extra set of downs on a 4th down pass interference on that drive...plainly put Jasper played poorly and Kirbyville ate their lunch. Jasper vaunted defense had no answer for Kirbyville offense and Jasper's offense sounded like they couldn't do anything right.

According to the paper Jasper Fumbled 8 times lost 2 can't get anywhre that way.
