LH 8th grade against Llano, 8-0. Yeah, us! Llano only carries one 8th grade team, about 40 kids or so, so we combined both teams. I believe our A team played the whole game. It was 0-0 until 4th quarter, when we scored with 2-pt conversion. Llano was trying to score with less than 2 minutes to go, when we got an interception. Hooray boys! #55, as always, great job blocking those boys!

We stayed for part of the freshman game, with less than 4 minutes in the first half, Llano scored to make the score 24-8, us. As I was getting back into town, JV game had just finished, but scoreboard was dark, so I don't know how that game was.

Way to go Panthers!

Thanks to both of you. I will say that I saw some of the poorest officiating that I've seen in quite a while. Not bad calls, but complete lack of blowing the whistle for dead balls. Now we have a stud back who can drag some boys with him; sometimes takes 2, 3 or 4 to stop him. But this was ridiculous - at least 7 or 8 times, there would be 5 or 6 guys surrounding him, no one was moving anywhere. It took the refs 3 or 4 seconds every time to blow the ball dead. The worst was when he was tackled and clearly on the ground with 6 guys on top of him. The other 3 were 5 or 6 yards from the pile, had time to run to the pile & jump on it before they whistled. Sheesh!
