I know here im Marlin it does, I can remember the class from last year was offically the first group we had for the Waco chapter, the 11 and 12 year old group(then) took us to State last year. So does pop warner football have alot to do with the success of High school football?

yes, for the most part...your youth programs that coordinate w/ the HS coaches and programs...and learn one O and one D, learn it WELL...and are usually good teams by time they reach HS. of course...this is just from my observations. but i'd say yes.

Funny you should ask this question cos I was just thinking how much it really does help these kids... I went to watch my nephew play this weekend (College Station vs Bellville) and these little 10 yo are amazing... I was impressed and could already see how some of them were "reading" the offense or defense and making adjustments... so yeah I think it helps big time...

I believe it could help with fundamentals and a basic knowledge of football if you have good coaches that really understand the game and dont just think they do, which I am sure is the the case in some places.

I would have to say YES...especially if the youth team has success.

For example.....the graduating class from 2004 played undefeated for 3 years in a row (4th - 6th), they won all three Superbowls - I don't believe they ever had to punt in all 3 years. (This team made up a BIG part of the Greenwood team who went to State in 2002.)

Another example...the freshman class we have now was also undefeated for 3 years in row and won all 3 superbowls. Now we have 4 (or maybe 5) of those freshman starting on Varsity.

The common denominator in all of this?? Both these teams were coached by the same "dad" - who also happens to be father of the Rangers very own ex-QB/Punter/kicker - Dawson Wilber - who is headed to NMSU on full scholarship AND the father of the freshman QB - Colton Wilber - who is now starting for the Rangers!!

I have to give the dad a WHOLE LOT of the credit!!!
