It's a great thing to see... I have been watching Bags and Biggio play together all of my life, and to finally see them both have success, along with the Astros, in the postseason is really exciting to me...

Great to see the Astros move on to St Louis even though my head is telling me that St Louis is going to dominate, my heart is rooting for the Astros, mainly because if they win and the Red Sox win their series, their is the slightest chance I could get tickets

St. Louis has the bats, but doesn't have the pitching...

Houston has the bats, but DOES have pitching...

Astros dominated the Cards in the second half of the season, which is when THESE Astros started playing...

Glad to see the Astros pile on the runs against the Braves in game 5. They did not want to go into late innings with a 1 or 2 run lead against the Braves in Atlanta. Smoltz looked much better sitting in the bullpen. Now that they made it to the next round, anything can happen. The Astros finally got that monkey off their back. Maybe they can play the Cardinals like they played late in the regular season. Good luck ASTROS!!

The first two games are going to be tough. The Astros pitching has been used up against Atlanta. No one will be ready to pitch until game three.Lets hope someone will step up and the bats stay hot these first games until our pitching returns.Go get em Stros.

I agree... I think we will see what the Stros' bullpen is made of the first 2 games. I'll keep my fingers crossed!! :eyetwitch

Last night... I know for a fact that the Astros had the # 21 on their jersey's (I think that the Braves did as well). But what ws the # 21 for?... no one at my work can remeber if that was Caminiti's # or not.

Caminiti wore # 11 when he was with the Astros... But he wore #21 when he was with the Padres which was his number he wore when he won the MVP.

He also wore #11 when he went back to the Astros in 1999 & 2000. Then his last year he wore #11 with the Rangers & #41 with the Braves which was his last year in 2001.

Only game I got to go to this year was against St Louis and the Astros dominated that game. Hope they continue that now in the post-season. ;)

i think that the stros will be good if they can get a win in one of the first two games without clemens/oswalt...this will be a good series for sure.....

here's a point of irony.....if we go to the world series, rocket would be playing one of his former teams

You knows the cards have to be licking their chops for the first two games though. No Rocket or O. Who are they gonna start for the first game? Backe? Should be an interesting series. Go Stros!!!

Pete Munro gets the start for tomorrow's game. That puts everyone else behind him on 4 days rest. That's what you really want.

Does anyone know if Pettitte and Everett out for the rest of the season?

Last I heard, Pettite was out for 60 days. I dont know about Everett. And I don't know when Pettite went out, but thats what I know.

If the Astros can pull out one of the two games without their two Ace's then it actually may be to their advantage to have them in games three and four.

I think it's worth it to throw a fourth guy in to get your starters on four days rest.

Backe is doing pretty dang good on the mound, though... The other guy, Munro I guess, is pretty good but may get rocked, which is okay, because the 'Stros can rock the Cards any day, but will they do it?

I believe Everett pinch ran the other night... He was supposed to go play with some Minor League ball club from what I heard (heard it during the Astros' Wild Card clinching game), but he's still in the dugout...

That's crazy... I saw the Astros play the Cards back in the mid 90's... It was a football game with a TD, extra point and TD with a two-point conversion scored for the 'Stros, and a safety gained by the Cards (final 15-2)...

Finley, Gonzales, Bagwell, Biggio and Bell all homered above, beside and below us that night, it was AWESOME...

And Ozzie Smith did a backflip :D :D :D

Wait, that was his last season, so it was '96 when I saw that one...

everett can play short and pinch run, but he cant swing a bat...that is why he hasnt been starting...pettite willnot be back according to reports earlier this season, he has a tendon problem or something that he cant hurt worse, but when he tried to pitch w/ it in his last couple starts of this year it hurt too bad for him to go....so he wont be back, in all probability neither one of them will get a start in teh playoffs, though there is a possibility everett could come back, but not likely
