Iowa Park has played a quality schedule. They beat Burk & WF. Both of those teams went into OT with Denison and Denton. They beat a quality Wimberly team. Other wins: Breck, Gainesville, Childress, Mineral Wells. They also did very well (arguably won) a scrimmage against Decatur, and really man-handled a top 5 2A team in Holliday. 3 of those 7 wins are against 4A competition. I would argue that their schedule has been as difficult as anyone's.

I would rank IP anywhere from 9 to 12. They are certainly too low at 18.

Lately I've been trying not to be too much of a homer, but I'm inclined to agree with this.

I would have liked to see Iowa Park break the top 10, but it appears they are right on the verge. If they beat Vernon this week they ought to break in.

You know though, the more I think about it, the more I think they should be in the top 10. It's official. I'm pissed. Three of their 7 wins are over 4A competition and the other 4 wins are over +.500 teams. They have not had a weak schedule.

Who are you asking? If you asking me, we haven't made the playoffs yet. ;) IF we do & if we're D2, we would play 2nd seed from district 28. If you're not asking me, sorry I jumped in.

Matt, Matt, Matt.. when are you going to utlize my rankings model for 3A like you have for 4A? Don't make me get the organizational chart out! (not that it's valid here, but you get the joke).

Thank the UIL for that =)

Also i really hope this years Rice Raiders go farther than Last years rice raiders. So that some of the players from last year will quit braggin that they where the best team ever to go threw rice. I'm just sick of hearing it!

wimberley pretty much gave iowa park that game we just couldnt hold on to the ball we where the better team there coach even said that so to anybody that plays them hold on to the ball cause they will do something with it if you give it to them. i saw that game and it wasn't pretty.we out played them they just got lucky

Alright I cant take anymore, yes you did beat Decatur in 1 qtr of a scrimmage, but you fail to recall the first half of the scrimmage when we clearly outplayed the Hawks and scored more TD's than them. In a real 4 quarter game the Hawks could not hang with the Eagles and..................you know it!

I agree Iowa Park is grossly under ranked. I was a t the Decatur Scrimmage and they whooped the tar out of them, and they just keep getting better not worse. Personally I don't think any team with 2 losses should be on the list.

You should be pissed, They are ranked 12th in the AP polls and 7th in Texas Radio Sports Network rankings, So whats up with that, Matt?

I'm just teasing about being pissed. It really doesn't matter. It only matters where you finish.

I disagree with Mash about the Decatur scrimmage. I was there and Decatur did not score more than IP. I'm sorry but that's just not correct. IP physically handled Decatur pretty well. I will agree that you really can't judge based on a scrimmage, but Decatur did not "outplay" IP.

And JV certainly has a selective memory on the Wimberly game. He seems to view the turnovers that IP "received" from Wimberly had nothing to do with how the Hawks have played. The fact is that IP was ahead of Wimberly 24-7 mid way through the 4th. Wimberly had to make some spectacular pass plays in the 4th to make the game close. It really wasn't as close as the score indicated. We may have been lucky, but some believe you make your own luck. And our coach did not say Wimberly was a better team than his own Hawks.

It appears that the AP has IP at 11. I can't really argue too much with that. I also agree that 2 loses is pretty hard to justify being ranked in the top ten regardless of who those losses are.

The Navasota Rattlers are still a top 15 team. I know they could beat the crap out of some of the teams on this list.

That's probably a pretty accurate place for the Buckeyes. I can live with five. Let's face it. We can't really hide anymore can we?!
