Assuming that Gilmer runs the table in District 13, (it's not being cocky; it's being realistic) Gladewater vs. Mineola becomes a huge game in the grand scheme of things. If Gladewater loses to Mineola, then Mineola enters the playoffs as the third place team, and Gilmer will be the D1 representative when Gladewater fails to make the playoffs. (We are the second biggest school in the district much like Cuero.) For any of you upset because you feel that I'm not giving Sabine any credit, I apologize, but I saw them play last night against my Buckeyes, and they are absolutely horrible. That program is in trouble.

So, I don't "fear" going D1 in the playoffs. I just honestly feel that this year, particularly, D2 is the easier road. I would prefer Gilmer to go D2, just to meet some rival teams like Spring Hill and Tatum, but we'll deal with whatever we get.
