GIRLS
The Bridge City girls placed second in the 3A-2A-1A giant tournament last weekend. What a jump in performance from being ranked 10th in 3A state rankings. They are a very young team with a lot of potential to improve as the season progresses. We will just have to see it they can mature fast enough this season to really excel.

BOYS
The big GOLD TEAM running featured 16 Of the Gold teams(best timed teams of 5A); pitted against the 16 best Gold teams of 4A. What an honor for Bridge City ranked #1 in 3A to be asked to participate in this premium field. It tuned out that the good competition spurred the Cardinals on as they finished an incredible 8th place against Texas' best schools. In looking at the times in the other race for 3A-2A-1A: had BCs JV been allowed to run in that event they would have also had a very properous day in Cross Country. Both of these teams, boys and girls, have trained like Paratroopers or Royal Canadian Mounted Police to get conditioned to shine in these events...Of course it was an extra muddy course because of 4 1/2 inches of rain in Austin and the Cardinals can quickly turn into "mud ducks" since they are use to running the gator and nutria trails at Clairborne Park along Cow Bayou.

Congrat's to Coach Cody Knight and Coach Miller for their encouragement.
