I voted for Dane, but I think the Tatum QB is better than all the rest on the list, except maybe Gilmer's Johnson and he's not even listed.:)

Chandler Dane of Decatur, stats for this year
89 - 118 passes for 1,585 yards 22 touchdowns
1 interception
and has run for three more scores. He has also not played in the fourth quarter of three games because of large leads.

Go Eagles:)

I've never seen him, but I've heard that Hagy kid from Aransas Pass is an absolute stud. He was the QB for Gregory-Portland last year. Hannibal might know a little more about him. He's seen a few of AP's games this year.

Manuel Johnson is just an athlete and seems to adjusting well to his new position this year. Here is what the Longview News Journal had to say about him this week in an article about he and the Beechum kid from Carthage:

"Johnson, the leading receiver in East Texas a year ago with 79 catches, took over at quarterback for the Buckeyes this season and has sparkled. He has completed 114 of 169 passing attempts for 1,530 yards with 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Johnson also leads the team in rushing with 56 carries for 371 yards and four scores.

Friday in the win over Daingerfield, Johnson completed 24 of 28 passes for 350 yards and three scores to go along with 42 yards and two scores on the ground."

...And Daingerfield was supposed to be pretty solid.

I voted for Dane. Haven't seen him in live action since his sophmore yr but what i saw then proved to me he was something special. Another very good QB that was not on this list (deservedly so) is Justin Swenson from Iowa Park. He is not college material but he is an excellent HS QB. He is the heart and soul of an undefeated Iowa Park team and the kid has incredible moxie. Fearless, ultra-competetive, and tough as nails. I just thought he deserved a mention. His stats aren't eye popping but there are no stats for leadership or gutsy performances.

Hodge is probably the best player in all of 3A, but not necessarily the best QB, hes just a good athlete, not much of a passer though.

Wheres Vinny Testaverde? or David Carr, you think they would be the best QBs in the state.
