i still think its wide open. all the teams with the exception of sms has been here before, so you really can't count anyone as a clear cut favorite yet. i think texas has an excellent chance, but it won't be a cakewalk.

I agree with Shell. Of course Texas still has to beat FSU at least one more time in Florida which may not be easy. But if they do they will have a good chance. I know one thing - there will only be seven other teams with the same chance. :)

I still think Texas has an inside shot; however, if you look at the big picture- Houston, Rice, Lamar and the U. of Texas can all beat each other on a given night....I have been impressed with that S. Missouri State team-they know how to knock home runs!

You people seem to have forgotten about those Great LSU Tigers!!!!! Beat the stew out of Baylor.

Yes, LSU has a good Baseball team also. But if you look across the southern States, you see the bulk of the top-flight teams in College baseball..... Likewise, if you look across the Nation in softball, the Gulf Coast(TX & LA; along with the Southern California area are providing mos of the top athletes.

If I read it right-Rice U. has to play Southwest Missouri State....That is a real upstart team with some big bats!

Rice beat SMS 4-2, SMS hit two solo's in the top of the ninth, but thats all they could do. Rice has some outstanding pitchers from what ive been hearing. LSU got beat last night 8-2 by Cal. St. Fullerton. I didnt get to see the whole game. I also heard that Stanford won. I'll be happy as long as Texas wins tonight.

forney's curtis thigpen plays perfect tonite as the horns win big. he wnt like 3-3 on 5 at bats
he got hit once and i forget the other at bat.

LSU Tigers out after a comeback in the bottom of the 8th from South Carolina. Final 11-10.

HOOK 'EM HORNS!!! Great match-up tomorrow night between UT & Rice. GO HORNS!!
