we went to a playoff DH in Texas Stadium a few years back and the 2 teams in the 1st game had the same school songs as the 2 teams in the 2nd game ... what are the odds?

Sinton has an original school song entitled "Maroon and White". It was composed by a local resident who is deceased. Sinton's fight song is the same tune as "On Wisconsin".

The music was composed by the deceased resident. The words were written by Marilyn Seymour while she was the choir instructor at Sinton back in the sixties.

I do believe that 75% of the teams in Southeast Texas have the same tune for their school song. I vote that for the future, have the home team play the song and let each school sing their words to save time:D

Bridgeport has an original school song and fight song, both written by a band director in the 1960s. (I think--I'm not completely certain on the date, but I'm fairly certain it was when my parents were in school.) As far as I know, they're referred to as "School Song" and "Fight Song", respectively. ;)

Kirbyville has a great fight song...when we use to play them it would fire me up on the sidelines. Also probably the best fight song in the state is 4A Port Neches-Groves Cherokee. Gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it.
