Keith:

You know I have been impressed with IP this year and you questioned why I ranked them so high a couple of weeks ago. Tell me what you think about them? I'm not sure they can beat a Decatur, but their offensive play calling I though was very good. They also have a decent defense. I think they will knock off some teams in the playoffs. I really think these guys will beat both Graham and Vernon and win the district. Just your thoughts?

Keith7
10-02-2004, 12:54 AM
I didn't see the game, but i dont think alot can be taken from it, Gainesville isnt a top team like they were last year, not to take credit away from Iowa Park, they are a good team and alway have been.. but from what i've read and know about the 3 teams you've mentioned, I think Graham is stronger then both IP and Vernon.. but the Graham and IP game will be a good one to watch... I think the distrcit will end up 1. Graham 2. Iowa Park and 3. Vernon, but who knows this seems to be a season of parody in H.S. Football, and all these teams are rivals so anything can happen... I would love to be a linebacker in that district though, alot of power running!!!

Not going to say who'd win but from the scores I've seen in the SLC games, they've been scored on quite a bit so at least give Cuero 7 lol:D

FYI, last time SLC and Cuero hooked it up was in the state championship game in 3A in 1996(not too sure of the exact yr). SLC SQUEAKED BY with a score of 14-6 I believe, but I was @ the game and it should have been won by Cuero.

I know everyone is going to say how much SLC has grown and that they are nationally ranked and all this, but the only way to compare these two teams is by playing each other. So let's drop all of this nonsense about who's better, cuz we're never gonna find that out! And who cares.

I am a Cuero poster and yes, we would probly be beat pretty badly by SLC this year. I say probly because this is only high school football and all the guys are amateurs playing a sport that they love. Rangermom keep up the good work!

PS: Not all of us Cuero posters are bad, although we do seem to have most of the bad eggs posting on this site.

1st time: SLC's star running back was hurt
2nd time: SLC's Qb's dog died before the game :(
3rd time: Pilot point paid off the refs
4th time: Pilot Point wet down the field so the SLC recievers could not get footing and slowed them down
5th time: Pilot Point's crowd was yelling too loud
6th time: Pilot Point widened the hash marks to create less room for the SLC players ro run....

as you can SLC must have lost the last 6 games or PPHSFan wouldnt have mentioned it.. but if they were on even playing ground, it woulda been a whole different story :D
