How is this team doing? I remember all the hubbub about PA consolidating into one school and trying to boost their chances of winning a state championship. But I don't think that was the real reason they consolidated into one school. So what was the real reason? Is it the same reason that Victoria went to one high school?

I always enjoyed watching the PA Lincoln and PA Jefferson track teams when they came to State.

1-3...lost to all very good teams and have gotten better every week...last week they beat humble 17-6 who is a very good football team....they r doing very well and have a chance at winning distirct this year but i dont konw if they can beat Spring or Spring Westfield....we will see...they will prolly end up 3rd though and that still gets them into the playoffs...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Jamaal Charles miss the first two games. I think Memorial is a totally different team with him on the field. His first game back against Midland Lee (i think), he rushed for over 350 yards in an overtime loss. I think this Memorial team is by far the best they've had so far. JMHO

You're right. Charles missed the first two games, but rushed for 371 against Midland Lee in an OT loss; went for 147 yards against Humble; and led the Titans to a win over Baytown Lee tonight (42-14) with 240 yards rushing and 2 TDs (he sat out the 4th quarter). In 3 games, he has 758 yards rushing. He's the real deal.

Look for Memorial to make a strong run in the playoffs.

PA was forced to integrate finally after quite a few years of noncompliance with fed. court order...at least that is the impression I got from this situation.

Integrate? This isn't the '50's.

I don't think that's correct. Lincoln was primarily a black school. But, I know TJ was well integrated and I think SFA was also. I believe it had more to do with $$$.

No it was a court ordered intergration that had never been complied with and they were in jeopardy of losing all their federal money if they didnt comply. Or something like that.

So, they needed to integrate schools that were already integrated? Sounds like our government at work again!

Exactly, I am not sure about all the details but it did have something to do with a federal court mandate that had not been followed by P.I.S.D. for like 15 or 20 years. TJ was the only school that was really intergrated. SFA was mostly white and Lincoln was mostly black.

I knew it was something like that.

Actually UT is requiting him. They showed a UT requiter at his last game on our local news.
