I always have hated hypothetical questions because you can never have a correct answer...just opinions...but here goes anyhow. If 2002 Bandera, 2001 Sinton, and 98 Cuero all played each other, who do you think would have the best chance of winning two games? Cmon' South fans--let's hear it.

I've seen all teams play...

Saw Sinton in '00, but they had the same players mostly in '01 and were much better, but I have an idea...

Saw Bandera play in '02 in Victoria against PI... They have a very good fans, as well as PI...

Saw Cuero play in '98, of course...

Athletes were bigger and faster all around in 3A in '98...

Plus I'm a homer, I'll go with Cuero

(Sinton and Bandera's '98 teams could prolly compete well with their '01 and '02 teams)

I've argued with myself on that one a bunch... I was 15 and went up against those dudes in practice... they were bigger and faster, and so were the teams that they were playing...

i could say the same thing about the our varsity team my freshman year, and that was in 2000.. I don't think they are any smaller now, they just look that way..

yah, maybe you're right, but when I watch the highlights films I stop arguing with myself...

'04 Cuero would lose to '97-'98 Cuero!

Dang

My theory:

In the early '80's ('83, '84) the big deal on making your babies eat this and that to stay healthy came out... It lasted a few years but then parents went back to corn-feeding, now you're starting to see bigger and faster athletes again... slowly, but it's happening...

when u were 15 u were standing next to them but now u see them from a distance. I see them from the stands and they dont look so big but when u actually stand next to them, dam they are big!!This years cuero team is led by there speed from the backfield and they way coaches get them the ball. There line is big but i dont see no long drives just quick scoring from there backfield.

I don't think the parents in Celina ever stopped cornfeeding there kids, maybe that is a reason for all their sucess

Not just standing next to them, but watching film etc...

Seeing them now that I graduated...

Saw our RB the other from our '97 team, bigger than our biggest lineman...

In '98 we were fast as well, had a RB and QB both running 4.4's and a 4.4 secondary...

back when finley was here and a couple of years after he left, the entire defensive line was always over 6' 2" and the linebackers were about that tall. the o-line of course was the same size since they were mostly the same players that were on the d-line. whatever year we played sinton in the playoffs we had two monster dt's... one was about 6'4" and up around 280 and the other was about an inch shorter and around the same weight

Brice Price was the 6'4 guy, 265 sounds a tad more accurate...

Time Dents, the other Dt, was around 6'1 260...

Actually, Sinton had a couple of big dudes on their d-line... Alaniz (the DB Alaniz) was awesome... pretty tall and buff...

Now this is when I really like the Forum....some good info from some guys in the "football" know about some of these great teams from South Texas, and I get to find out more about them. I'm gonna just sit back and read some more....and maybe gain a little perspective.

The 98 team without a doubt ....... wasnt Arroyo*baylor* the defensive player of the year in 3-a that year? Throw in *Finley*Nebraska* and Jenkins*Texas* not sure who else got scholarships' but we were loaded both offensivley and defesively . BuT that goes to show Talent alone doent win championship's sometimes luck comes into play the PI game comes to mind , good thing theres OT now.
